The four we are known for

  1. Baby Blue

    Eucalyptus pulverulenta

    Cut as StandardSpray

    • Round leaves, in pairs

      Close opposite pairs from base to tip, each at a right angle to the one below, which is why a stem looks full from any side.

    • Silver over blue-green

      A matt, powdery finish over blue-green. It keeps much of its colour and its scent as it dries.

  2. Gunni

    Eucalyptus gunnii

    • Long and narrow

      Long, narrow green leaves carried on slender stems.

    • Copper at the tips

      New growth comes through copper and orange at the tip of each stem.

  3. Parvifolia

    Eucalyptus parvifolia

    Cut as StandardSpray

    • Small and pointed

      Small, pointed blue-green leaves, set closely along the stem.

    • Fine and branching

      Fine stems that branch as they grow, which is what makes it a light, airy filler.

  4. Globulus

    Eucalyptus globulus

    • Broad and rounded

      Broad, rounded green leaves along the length of the stem.

    • Red stems, bronze growth

      The stems are red, and new growth comes through bronze and red.

Baby Blue

Eucalyptus pulverulenta

Round leaves in close opposite pairs, matt silver over blue-green, running the whole length of the stem. It keeps much of its colour and its scent as it dries.

How an order is filled

  1. Freshly cut eucalyptus stems laid against a timber wall, cut ends turned to face the same way.

    Cut

    Stems are cut from the field beds by hand and carried in to the shed.

  2. Cut eucalyptus being sorted into bunches on a bench, with the stem ends gathered and aligned.

    Sort

    Every stem is sorted by its length and by the condition of its leaf.

    Bunches are kept in the packing shed until the time they are dispatched.

The farm

The eucalyptus grows outdoors in red-soil field beds, not under glass. Plants are cut back and left to regrow, so the same beds carry one crop after another.

Cutting, sorting and tying all happen on site. Nothing is bought in and passed on.
